Waking up at midnight, my mind attempts to decipher what just happened. And why did it wake me up at midnight? The date is March 26, 2020. Little did I know.

“Evidently, the preacher, his wife and daughter, rounded up the teens, gathered in the church parking lot filled with luggage, bags, drinks, etc. (This preacher and his family are great friends of mine but ones that I rarely see now that I live in another state). I have not dreamed of them in forever! So, I am a little confused about why I stand in the parking lot alongside everyone. Ordering me to gather all the beach towels, I now understand. I am going on this trip as a chaperone and we are driving to Disney World! Piling up the towels in the van, I notice inflatable rafts, which must mean fun water sports are planned.

An Olympic runner stands with our group as we prepare for a race. The preacher introduces her and without warning, the group runs. The path, unmarked, overgrown with weeds, seems difficult and I am slow, but I know that I will finish this race. Finally, I see the Olympic runner and the preacher standing at the finish line.

Walking down a road with my best friend in high school, I noticed a house that I once resided in. The woman, standing on the front lawn, beckons for us to come see her flowers. Her small roses were truly beautiful, with shades of pink and white throughout. Then, she told us these were ‘precious seeds’.”

The symbolism:

Interestingly, one of the names of the four characters in my dream means “divine”. And I know deep in my soul, Elohim has shared information that will require much prayer and study.

When dreaming of a preacher, this represents “a level of sacredness or reconnection to the spiritual which the dreamer desperately needs.” Oh how I need thee, God, as this coronavirus rages on!

To dream of friends (which they were) indicates “you may need to better relate to people around you. Look at the relationship and find ways to improve it.” Due to unfortunate events and distance, the relationship has been difficult to sustain.

An old friend that you have not seen for a long time is a sign that “you will meet with friends from your past, but not necessarily with the one you dreamed about.”

To dream about Disney World refers to “nostalgia, a feeling of pure joy, and a desire to escape to a carefree, magical world.” Truly, my subconscious longs for escape and freedom, as we hunker down.

A minivan symbolically means “family”. The appearance of a minivan in a dream is rare. When one sees a minivan, the reference means “expansion and growth are coming.” Further study explains, “if dreaming of a long road ahead (and I was), this indicates a lasting connection with these people; there is this importance of them in your life.” I love them dearly. The preacher baptized all of my children! Still, what am I not seeing?

Seeing the luggage/suitcase reminds one “of the past”. This symbol signals you “to return to the moment when things were firmly in your grasp; all grown up but still having that innocence that comes with youth; references memories and emotions, forever tucked away and knowing you will never be able to return to it fully.” And I cry for what is lost.

The beach towels denote “a need for relaxation” and “a break from stress”. Seeing fresh, clean beach towels can symbolize “ you are reaching a new chapter in your life.” Reading this brings me affirmation that I still am on the right path and following my purpose God placed inside of me.

A raft signifies “sailing away from an undesirable time (I think this is still representing the dreaded virus), and moving to a more positive outcome. Be ready for changes that may come in your life and do not allow yourself to be taken off guard; Stay prepared.” I am reminded of Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” I, therefore, go forth each morning with the full armor of God as protection.

The church, appearing in a dream, reflects “your spiritual connection; a place of solace and reflection.” Upon seeing the church, my feelings were of peace and calmness, knowing I was at “home”.

The parking lot shows “ a transition in your career as you explore new ways of moving forward.” Indeed, my life enters such dimensions while I sleep that I must continue forth and never look back.

The Olympic runner symbolizes “ pushing your limits; striving for excellence in a particular area of your life, which requires dedication and hard work.” “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.(Matthew 16:24). I cannot stop and I do not dare release the cross.

When dreaming of a race, this suggests “your work and daily life. Consider how you participate in the race and compare it to your waking life.” In my dream, I knew I could not win, but I knew I could finish. That gave me such joy as I slept!

The finish line indicates “part of your life is coming to an end.” Thinking back, my first book will be released soon. How excited I am to interact with people again and this book may provide the way.

Further research states “ there is never a permanent ending to anything in life; things are merely changing and moving forward to the next something.” This shows “your passage through life, your participation in the human race, and how you feel you have performed.”

The marathon indicates “a manner of human expression; staying the course despite the condition. As Paul’s words emphasize to Timothy and all of us, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith..” 2 Timothy 4:7.

A path, in dreams, indicates “ need for becoming more open with others.” If the path is blocked or twisty (which it was), then, you “need to give serious consideration of the particular course of life you have chosen; if changing , then you must give it serious thought. And you should consider taking a vacation.” Yes, I feel the pressure, for sure, along with the weight. The devil continues his attacks.

On the other hand, the road I am traveling later in my dream stretched long and straight, providing another meaning. “The road in a dream has a direct correlation to how you are feeling in the waking world and can represent issues one faces in life. Walking a long distance means you are heading in a positive direction. “

This symbol of a road “relates to your life path; a symbol of self-realization, adventure, and directions you must follow to succeed.” If you were happy on the road (and I was), then “you are prepared to walk toward your goals and realize your wildest dreams.” In Colossians 2:6-7, we are comforted, “Therefore, as you receive Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Immediately, my mind thinks of the “precious seeds” the woman showed us.

Walking with someone along the road, denotes “your wish for a peaceful life” and “harmony”.

Dreaming of an unknown woman suggests “your subconscious mind is trying to heal; you need to be mothered yourself and cared for.” Possibly, my subconscious lingers in darkness, waiting. My mother died when I was three and having no conscious remembrance of her, I cannot help but wonder what I know in my unconsciousness

To dream of flowers, indicates happiness, joy, love, and being content”. Seeing a gorgeous flower garden, suggests “great harvest”. Could this be representing a great harvest of souls to Christ?

White flowers refer to “peace and happiness; sign of perfectness, purity.” Pink flowers suggest “romance” and “grace”. The pink roses indicate “a soft heart”.

Seeds appearing in the dream symbolize “the possibilities in your life; your strengths and talents”. This dream signifies “your idea will take shape and grow” and “psychic energy”. Again, what do I need to see in this dream??

Dreaming of a previous/old home infers “the past, revisiting old issues.” My friends that also appeared in this dream, were such a huge part of my life at that time.

To dream of a previous home might be a sign “you are experiencing a major life transition and are subconsciously reflecting on your past.” Again, my subconscious pops up in a symbol. What have I not uncovered yet?
